Hymen reconstruction
The integrity of the hymen plays a major role in many cultures as a sign of purity. The skin can be restored before a planned wedding, if desired, surgically.
The edges of the ruptured cuticle are sought out and sewn together. If sufficient remnants cannot be found for suturing, mucosa from the vagina can be used for reconstruction.
The most important information at a glance
This means that an operation time of between 30 minutes and 2 hours will be scheduled on an outpatient basis. The patient can choose between local anesthesia and twilight sleep anesthesia. 2-3 days of physical rest afterwards are advisable. The patient can shower with clear water on the first day after the procedure. Until the wounds heal completely, no sport should be practiced, the threads dissolve on their own.
